CBD Isolate Reigns Supreme: Study Finds CBD Isolate More Effective Than Full-Spectrum CBD Oils in Cancer Cells

A 2020 study aimed to compare the efficacy of pure CBD isolate to various full-spectrum CBD oils in reducing cancer cell survival rate. The results showed that none of the three full-spectrum CBD oils were more potent than pure CBD isolate in reducing cancer cell survival.

The debate between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD is a major point of debate in the world of CBD. Proponents of full-spectrum CBD argue that the presence of other phytochemicals enhances the efficacy of CBD, a phenomenon known as the "entourage effect." However, this study provides evidence that CBD isolates may actually be more effective than full-spectrum CBD oils at interacting with the endocannabinoid system, indicating that the entourage effect may not be as significant as previously thought.

The study treated six different types of human cancer cells with either pure CBD isolate or CBD from full spectrum hemp oil obtained from three different commercial sources. The results showed that pure CBD isolate was as potent or even more potent at reducing cancer cell viability compared to the most potent full-spectrum CBD oil tested, suggesting that there is no entourage effect under these specific in vitro conditions.

In conclusion, this study provides clear evidence that CBD isolate is superior to full-spectrum CBD oils in reducing cancer cell viability in a laboratory setting. The findings call into question the validity of the entourage effect and highlight the importance of conducting more research to determine the true impact of CBD and the entourage effect on cancer cells.

Editor's Note: The ongoing debate surrounding the use of CBD isolate vs full-spectrum CBD oils can leave many consumers confused. While opinions may vary, the science is clear. CBD isolate is the superior option for those looking to solely benefit from the effects of CBD. While it's possible that some components in full-spectrum CBD oil may enhance the effects of CBD, it's also possible that they could interfere with the absorption and effectiveness of the CBD. This could be due to several key factors, including anti-nutrient compounds still present in a full-spectrum oil that can block CBD absorption, the unknown effects of up to thousands of additional compounds present in full-spectrum CBD oils, and the fact that the majority of scientific studies on CBD have been conducted using CBD isolate.

While I do believe in the concept of the entourage effect, where a combination of compounds can produce desired effects, this study clearly shows that in regards to CBD, isolate is the superior option. In fact, even if we were to consider the entourage effect, it would be more effective to create a targeted combination of different isolated compounds, rather than relying on the unknown and potentially harmful components present in full-spectrum CBD oils. The use of CBD isolate in product formulations ensures the purity and potency of the CBD, as well as a clearer understanding of its effects, making it the more reliable and effective option.

In fact, Spekr product formulations have always utilized CBD isolate because we have always understood the science behind its effectiveness. The results of this study only further solidify our belief that CBD isolate is the best choice for maximum CBD benefits.
